Well, who’s this?
This is Fio. As you may know, I have a whole lot of skunks in my backyard and Fio is one of them. (I’m not sure if it’s short for Fiodor or Fiona, but I do know that Fio can mean flower in Italian, which is an appropriate cartoon skunk moniker!)
Fio — drawn by the extremely talented Kayleigh Morrison — is the mascot for a new project I’m doing, which is a monthly zine. Recipes, mixtapes, animal videos – there is a lot of fun packed in this teeny tiny publication. Why am I doing this? Because I’ve always wanted to!
I just sent issue one off to the printer. I’ll be folding them up and getting them ready to get to you, if you want one! I’m doing one each month from August 2026 to July 2027.
How can you get Fio? If you see me in person, I’ll hand one to you! It will also available as a PDF on my website that you can download and print yourself. Or you can subscribe and get one by mail each month, with a little surprise in the envelope!
I’m mailing out the first issue for free to anyone who wants one. After that it’s a super cheap subscription, just to cover stamps and envelopes and stuff. Message me your address, and Fio #1 will arrive in your mailbox in the beginning of August.
