Well, who’s this?
This is Fio. As you may know, I have a whole lot of skunks in my backyard and Fio is one of them. (I’m not sure if it’s short for Fiodor or Fiona, but I do know that Fio can mean flower in Italian, which is an appropriate cartoon skunk moniker!)
Fio — drawn by the extremely talented Kayleigh Morrison (who did my This is Water posters and my “Melody & Jack” single cover) — is the mascot for a new project I’m doing, which is a monthly zine. Recipes, mixtapes, animal videos – there is a lot of fun packed in this teeny tiny publication. Why am I doing this? Because I’ve always wanted to!
I just copied a whole bunch of them on my printer, and am folding them up and getting them ready to get to you! I’m doing one each month from August 2026 to July 2027.
I’m mailing out the first one for free to anyone who wants one. After that it’s a super cheap subscription, just to cover stamps and envelopes and stuff. Email me your address, and Fio #1 will arrive in your mailbox in the beginning of August.
